Weavingshaw isn't a standalone, whatever your audiobook app told you. Weavingshaw book 2 is The Saint of Silence, out April 6, 2027 from Del Rey in the US, and the UK edition, Saint of Silence with no "The", follows on April 8 from Bantam.

The mix-up has an apology on record. In Heba Al-Wasity's June 2026 AMA on r/fantasyromance, a reader wrote (3 points) that "Audible had it listed as standalone, so the end was unexpected". The author's reply, at 4 points: "I'm sooo sorry about the standalone mixup. Nothing is worse when you expect a neat ending, and you're left with a cliffhanger". Our Weavingshaw series page carries the date.

The header on that page reads "Book 2 of 2: The Weavingshaw Trilogy", and book 1's page says "Book 1 of 2". The blurb on the same page calls this "the second book" of a "slow-burn gothic fantasy romance trilogy", and the author's site calls Weavingshaw "the first in a trilogy". We side with the blurb and the author. Al-Wasity told the AMA, "Luckily I had planned the entire trilogy."

Not a standalone, and readers found out at the last page

A September 2 thread in r/fantasyromance was titled "Weavingshaw Ending… WHAT WAS THAT?". Its top reply, at 20 points, came from a reader who "thought it was a standalone and was panicking on the airplane as I watched the pages left narrow". That reader still ended on "Love it, can't wait for the sequel whenever that is".

Not everyone forgave it. A 6-point reply called it "my pet peeve ending - random mid scene cliffhanger." Publishers Weekly, quoted on the book 1 page, promised "a devastating cliffhanger ending will leave readers eager for more." Eager is one word for it.

One reader in the thread chose to wait instead. In a 3-point comment, they had waited 10 weeks for a library copy, started it, then checked the author's Instagram and saw a sequel was coming: "I immediately returned it and back to my TBR it went."

What the author has said about Weavingshaw book 2

The AMA opened on June 15, 2026, and Al-Wasity answered through June 16. Asked for hints about book 2, the author gave three words.

That reply sits at 17 points. On timing, the author's guess was "Hopefully, fingers crossed, it should be out early spring next year (less than a year!)", and April 6 lands 294 days after that June 16 reply, so the guess held. On titles: "I have a title for Book 2 & 3 (although I think my publishers would kill me if I release it too early)". Book 2's is public now; book 3's isn't. And the sequel came easier: "Writing the second book was definitely easier."

Del Rey sells the series as "slow-burn", and the one hint on record is yearning. FaeShelf's spice scale has no number for book 1 yet, because no review we use describes its heat. We'd rather leave the gauge empty than guess from three words.

Spoilers for book 1: what the book 2 blurb gives away

Spoiler warning: this section quotes the official book 2 blurb, which gives away where Weavingshaw ends. Skip to "Our take" if you haven't finished book 1.

The two publishers open their blurbs on different words for who Leena is. The US copy starts with "A young refugee who can see the dead"; Penguin UK's starts with "A young immigrant who can see the dead". Same book, same 432 pages.

The spoiler comes in the US blurb's next paragraph: Leena is "trapped in the demon world with a dying Bram St. Silas". The Wake are after her, because she and Bram now hold "the red diary of the Avons". The diary points to an object that could let Leena "break Bram free of his lifetime indenture."

Our take: what we'd do

Start Weavingshaw in March if you'd rather not sit on its cliffhanger for months. It's 464 pages, and the sequel is 166 days out from our October 22 check, so a spring start puts the two books back to back. UK readers get one more nudge: Penguin's paperback of book 1 (480 pages) is out March 4, 2027, 35 days before Saint of Silence. Already finished book 1? Then April 6 is the date to circle, and the cover is the next thing to watch for. Skip it for now if you only start finished series: book 3 has no date and no public title. On Goodreads, book 1 averages 4.12 from 14,844 ratings, and 79,128 people have it on their want-to-read shelf as of October 22, 2026. That's a lot of readers who may not have met the last page yet.
