Completed Romantasy Series: 8 Finished Series to Binge Now
Completed romantasy series with the publisher's own word that they are done. 8 series, years, book counts, sourced spice and which ones are YA or adult.

These completed romantasy series are finished according to the people who published them, not just a fan wiki: The Folk of the Air, Letters of Enchantment, Kingdom of the Wicked, Serpent & Dove, the Aurelian Cycle, the Powerless Trilogy, the Saga of the Unfated and Throne of Glass. For each one, the publisher, Common Sense Media or Wikipedia calls the last book a conclusion or finale. Book counts, years and sourced spice notes were checked on October 9, 2026.
TL;DR: Eight series you can start without waiting on a sequel: two duologies (Letters of Enchantment, Saga of the Unfated), five trilogies (Folk of the Air, Kingdom of the Wicked, Serpent & Dove, Aurelian Cycle, Powerless) and the eight-book Throne of Glass. Most are YA or YA crossover with low heat; Serpent & Dove has one explicit scene in book 1, and the Saga of the Unfated is adult. The Empyrean and ACOTAR are not finished.

Key Takeaways
- Every "finished" label has a source. We list a series only when the publisher, Common Sense Media or Wikipedia says the last book ends it.
- Shortest binge: Letters of Enchantment, two books published in 2023.
- Adult pick: the Saga of the Unfated, a Norse-inspired duology from Del Rey.
- Not finished: the Empyrean (book four in progress) and ACOTAR (book six out October 27, 2026).
Overview: why completed romantasy series are worth the search
Readers are tired of waiting. In a September 2026 r/fantasyromance thread asking for favourite completed series, the top reply summed it up:
The comment reads: "At this point "completed series" is basically a genre I search for." Another reader in the same thread argued for short series: "duologies are the sweet spot because the author can't pad book two with a side quest nobody asked for."
The trouble is that "complete" is easy to claim and hard to check. A Goodreads series page shows what is out, not whether more is coming. So for this list we used the publisher's own description of the last book where we could, and Common Sense Media or Wikipedia where the publisher's page did not say.

Analysis: completed romantasy duologies
1. Letters of Enchantment by Rebecca Ross (2 books, 2023). Divine Rivals came out April 4, 2023, and Ruthless Vows on December 26, 2023. Macmillan calls Ruthless Vows "the epic conclusion to the intensely romantic and beautifully written story that started in divine rivals", and quotes Paste calling it "a banger of a duology ending". The publisher's age range is 13 to 18. Common Sense Media says Divine Rivals has "no graphic detail" and that in book 2 "their lovemaking is intense but not explicitly described". Spice: 1 to 2 out of 5. A prequel, Wild Reverence, followed in 2025. Goodreads average for Divine Rivals: 4.14 from about 806,000 ratings.

2. Saga of the Unfated by Danielle L. Jensen (2 books, 2024 to 2025). The adult pick. A Fate Inked in Blood came out February 27, 2024, and A Curse Carved in Bone on May 13, 2025. Penguin Random House calls the second book the "searing conclusion to the norse-inspired fantasy romance duology that began with the bestselling a fate inked in blood". Publishers Weekly called book one "this sizzling if sometimes silly romantasy" with "steamy interludes", which is not specific enough for a number, so it stays unrated.

Completed romantasy trilogies
3. The Folk of the Air by Holly Black (3 books, 2018 to 2019). The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King and The Queen of Nothing. Hachette's page for book 3 calls it the "jaw-dropping finale to the folk of the air trilogy". Common Sense Media rates books 1 and 3 at 14+: book 1 has only passionate embraces, and book 3 has a few scenes that make clear, "though not graphically", that a married couple has sex. Spice: 1 to 2 out of 5. Goodreads average for The Cruel Prince: 4.0 from about 1.9 million ratings.
4. Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco (3 books, 2020 to 2022). A witch hunting her twin's killer meets "wrath, one of the wicked-princes of hell", per the publisher's blurb. Hachette calls book 3 "the steamy conclusion to kingdom of the wicked trilogy" and suggests it "for ages 16 and up". We found no review describing the scenes, so the series is unrated here.
5. Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin (3 books, 2019 to 2021). A witch and a "witch-hunting chasseur" in "a french-inspired witch fantasy trilogy", per Common Sense Media, which rates book 1 15+ and notes "an explicit sex scene of intercourse between consenting, married adults". That is a 3 out of 5 for book 1. HarperCollins calls Gods & Monsters "the electrifying conclusion" to the trilogy, which runs Serpent & Dove, Blood & Honey, Gods & Monsters. Book 3 came out July 27, 2021.

6. The Aurelian Cycle by Rosaria Munda (3 books, 2019 to 2022). Dragon riders, YA, low heat. Common Sense Media says "furysong is the last of the dragon-fantasy trilogy, the aurelian cycle". It rates Fireborne 12+ with "an instance of implied sex, but nothing's described", and Furysong 14+. Spice: 1 out of 5. If you came here from Fourth Wing, our books like Fourth Wing list has more dragon picks.
7. The Powerless Trilogy by Lauren Roberts (3 books, 2023 to 2025). Powerless came out January 31, 2023 and Fearless on April 8, 2025. Common Sense Media headlines its Fearless review as the "end of mature romantasy trilogy", rates it 14+, and says its one sexual encounter is "not described beyond undressing". Book 1 is "a little" for sex content. Spice: 1 to 2 out of 5.
Completed romantasy series with more books: Throne of Glass
8. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (8 books, 2012 to 2018). The longest finished series here. Wikipedia says "the series concluded with the eighth book in october 2018", and Maas's own reading guide lists all eight ending with Kingdom of Ash. Common Sense Media rates book 1 14+, with little beyond "a couple of hot, long-awaited kisses", so it is a 1 out of 5 to start. We have no sourced rating for the later books. Kingdom of Ash had a 4.71 Goodreads average on October 9, 2026.
Maas's other series is a different story. Her site lists A Court of Splintered Harmony, the sixth ACOTAR book, "out oct 27th 2026". The Empyrean is unfinished too: Rebecca Yarros wrote in July 2026 that she is "writing book four", and our Empyrean series reading order tracks where it stands.

Our take
This take is based only on the publisher pages, reviews and listings cited above. If you want one finished series and you are an adult reader who wants open-door romance, the Saga of the Unfated is the only clearly adult pick here, though PW's "steamy" is as close as we can get to a heat level. If low heat is fine, Letters of Enchantment is the quickest finish, and Throne of Glass is the longest, with eight books to sink into. The honest gap in this list is adult, high-heat finished series: the big adult romantasy series of the moment are mostly still running.
